It is with increasing sadness that I realise the extent of objectification and marginalisation of women… Specifically through their representation within the media. Having grown up in (what I perceived to be) a reasonably enlightened landscape of opportunity, it alarms me that the archaic notion of patriarchy is still alive in 2014… In fact, more than alive: it’s thriving.

It has struck me that I have much to say on this (complex) issue, but also that I have been unwittingly participating in the merry dance of patriarchy for quite some time. I wonder how many other women this applies to?

So recently I have been questioning some of these so-called “norms” and thus this blog was born. I hope you enjoy my musings (which are in no way intended to be instructive) but my thoughts have simply got too big for my head. I hope you enjoy what I have
to say, but more than that, I
hope it makes you think.

PS. The real Boudica (incidentally the spelling is something of a judgement call) kicked ass. Google her.
